Aggreko has launched three Tier 4 Final diesel generators designed specifically for remote Canadian work sites. The units are available in 145 kW, 210 kW and 1200 kW capacities at 600V, and Aggreko says the models will be offered exclusively to Canadian contractors.
According to Aggreko, the generators are intended to meet and exceed local market needs and requirements. All three are CSA and UN31A compliant, a combination the company says addresses Canada's electrical and fuel regulations. The units also incorporate Aggreko's latest generator technologies and are configured for the market and regulatory conditions facing Canadian contractors. Aggreko positions them for reliable, low-emissions power across commercial and industrial applications.
The 1200 kW model carries a key technical feature: onboard 600V capability. Aggreko says this eliminates the need for additional step-up transformers. The direct 600V output is described as reducing project complexity, improving cost-efficiency and minimizing potential points of failure. For large industrial loads where 600V is frequently required, the company argues that this configuration gives customers a competitive edge.
Canadian demand and data centre focus
Paul Nascimento, Aggreko's managing director for Canada, said tailoring its most advanced generators for Canadian customers underscores the importance of the market. He pointed to large petrochemical and mining industries that need power across vast and remote territories, alongside thriving construction and data centre sectors. According to Nascimento, Canada has clear demand for engineered energy solutions that are both powerful and precisely configured, and the Canadian Tier 4 Final generators are intended to pair advanced technology with hardware tailored to the specific requirements of operating in Canada.
The 145 kW and 210 kW models are canopy units that Aggreko describes as readily deployable for immediate energy needs. The 1200 kW model is positioned for large industrial loads. The new additions strengthen Aggreko's Canadian fleet, which spans 25 kW to 1200 kW.
Aggreko's network of Canadian service centres will support the generators. The company's energy experts will work with customers in data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining and events, deploying temporary power for a range of applications.
Aggreko says all three Canadian Tier 4 Final generators provide high fuel efficiency, ultra-low emissions and significantly controlled noise levels that surpass local requirements. The company sees particular potential in Canada's expanding data centre industry. As provincial regulators look to limit how much power data centre operators draw from the grid, Aggreko says its Tier 4 Final generators can supply off-grid energy to keep facilities operational in a way that is minimally disruptive to communities.
